Description

As far as Soviet/Russian Nagant Revolvers go, this is a fairly scarce one to find.  In 95% condition, we have a very rare production date, 1919 M1895 Nagant Service Revolver made at the Tula Arsenal under Bolshevik control.  This pistol is all matching and also shows a 1934 Soviet Arsenal overhaul, probably needed after seeing rough service in the civil war era.  The fire blue is still visible on the hammer and it is much nicer than you usually see these pistols.  Of course this is not one of the post war redone import marked turds.

1919 dated Nagant Revovlers are not common, The Arsenal complex at Tula was not running for most of the year due to the scarcity of skilled workers.  Collectors consider this one of the scarcest production years and certainly from a historical standpoint the most desirable.  To think that this revolver saw action in both the Russian Civil War and then WWII really can capture ones imagination.  This was a vet bringback from WWII so it was likely a Nazi Capture and a GI re-capture.  This is an iconic piece of Russian History.
