SOLD US WWII COLT OFFICIAL POLICE REVOLVER, 4 inch .38 SPECIAL, SHIPPED TO ANDERSON & IRELAND COMPANY, BALTIMORE ON SEPT 12, 1942, MINT CRISP!

In 98% mint crisp all original condition, we have a fairly scarce early WWII production Colt Official Police Revolver in .38 Special.  Very Unusually, this pistol was one of 6 shipped on Sept 12, 1942 to the Anderson & Ireland Company of Baltimore Maryland, which was the largest oldest and most well-known hardware and sporting goods store in the city and had been since it’s opening in 1805.   

It is very unusual to have had a commercial shipment like this during the war and very likely these were intended for some kind of security use in and around the Baltimore harbor.  This is a must own for our many Maryland clients among others.
