WEEKLY NEWS UPDATE SUN SEPT 10, JIMMY BUFFET’S DEAD, I’M NOT, #189
]NEWS FROM THE OFFICE: Scotty has been laid up in the Winchester VA Valley Health Medical Center hospital since Monday August 21. He is expected to continue to remain there for the next one to two weeks before being discharged. What has happened to him has been both profound and metaphysical but we are just sticking to the facts here.
Two years ago both he and his brother Daniel were diagnosed with prostate cancer almost at the same time. Daniel underwent surgical prostrate removal which was not completely successful; his PSA numbers shot through the roof, his then health insurance provider refused to allow an additional PET scan which would have located the remaining cancer quickly. After changing providers the remaining cancer was located and he just completed radiation treatment therapy which we pray has successfully cured his issue, which tests have confirmed so far.
- Scotty was recommended to have radiation therapy which he did undergo; unfortunately it was handled by a completely incompetent ham handed and oafish medical team. His cancer was destroyed but so was his rectum and bladder which were burned up by the radiation in the process. For the past two years he suffered almost relentless UTI’S and stool issues. He could not attend gun shows or travel without a huge ordeal of pain and suffering. Back in January he had a rectal bleed so severe that it put him in the hospital. By the end of August this past year he was reduced to sleeping 14 hours a day just two work two hours;,HE WAS FLOUNDERING AND HAD NO IDEA WHY.
On August 21 he barely made it to the emergency room of Winchester hospital and was diagnosed with a very life threatening case of Fouriers Gangrene and underwent emergency surgery. As a result of the infection he had an Colectomy and now evacuates stool into a bag. He had two additional surgeries which went well. He was scheduled for a fourth one; a final clean out of the infection but things did not go well; apparently when he was placed on the operating table something in the Colectomy broke; he woke up bleeding to death and no one knew why. He was given a cat scan and 11 pints of blood. His relatives were told it did not look good he was intubated and things looked incredibly grim for him. Finally the bleeding clotted and he literally came back to life. He regained consciousness this past Monday and got out of the ICU this past Wednesday. He is now enduring painful wound dressings daily but he is BOUNCING BACK!!! And should be home in a week or so.
